Hey beautiful friend,
I listened to a Mel Robbins podcast a bit ago with Charles Duhigg, the author who studies habits, and something he said stopped me in my tracks.
He was talking about building habits in a way that actually supports your life instead of draining you. And one of his suggestions was so simple, but so wise:
Create a morning routine that includes something relaxing, something that connects you, and something you genuinely look forward to.
He gave the example of prayer.
Not just as a spiritual practice, but as something that naturally creates a moment of stillness, grounds your body, brings connection, and even gives you something to look forward to when you are praying for people you will see or talk to throughout the day.
I had never thought about it that way, but it really landed for me. It made me notice how often my mornings begin in go mode instead of grounded mode. I wake up already thinking about what needs to get done, who needs my attention, and what responsibilities are waiting.
So I am going to try building my mornings around those three pieces and see how it shifts my day.
Something relaxing.
Something that connects me.
Something I look forward to.
Even naming that feels different.
If you have a morning habit that helps you feel calm, connected, or centered, I would love to hear it. You can reply directly to this email and share whatever comes to mind. I always enjoy hearing what supports you.
With warmth,
Kimberlie
