Something I read didn't sit right with me

Real stories. Real advice.

Hi friend,

I was reading an email from a well known businessman the other night. He was talking about why people do not change, and one line stopped me.

He said the reason people stay the same is because their lives are already good enough. As if people only transform when life becomes unbearable or when desire becomes extreme.

Something in me pulled back at that.

A little later I saw a post from a nervous system coach who said that change begins in the mind. The idea was that once you think the right thoughts, everything else falls into place.

So here I was, reading two very different voices saying the same thing.
If you have not changed, it must mean you are too comfortable or not motivated enough or not thinking the right thoughts.

And something inside me whispered a very quiet no.
That is not the truth for most people.

So let me ask you a question.
Does that kind of message land strangely for you too?
Have you ever heard something like that and felt it missed something important?

Here is what I have actually seen in myself and in others.
People do not stay stuck because their lives are good enough.
People do not break through because their mindset is perfect.
People stay stuck because their bodies do not feel safe enough to loosen their grip.

Your body knows how you feel seven seconds before your mind does. And the system responsible for keeping you regulated sends eighty percent of its communication from your body to your brain.

If your body does not feel safe, your mind never receives the signal that says we can move forward now.

It is not a motivation issue.
It is not a desire issue.
It is not a try harder issue.

It is a safety issue.

And I think many people feel this quietly, even if they have never had the words for it.

So I want to ask you something gently.
Have you ever blamed yourself for not changing quickly enough?
Have you ever assumed something was wrong with you because you could not make yourself act?
Do you ever feel like your mind wants something your body is not ready to reach for yet?

If you feel comfortable replying, I would honestly love to hear your experience.
What part of change feels hard for you right now?

There is no pressure.
Just an open conversation.
Your story matters here.

And if you have not heard this in a while, here is your reminder.
You are not unmotivated.
You are not behind.
You are not broken.
Your body is simply asking for safety, and that is a beautiful place to begin.

Warmly,
Kimberlie
