Hello beautiful friend,
I went to the Trees for Charity this year and took my time reading the stories attached to each one.
Not the decorations.
The people.
Each tree represented a family or individual who would receive support through the auction. And as I stood there, I noticed something quietly rise in me.
I wished I could bid.
Not from obligation.
From desire.
I want to be in a place where next year I can raise my paddle and say yes — without hesitation, without fear, without it costing more than I can carry.
That moment surprised me. Not because it felt heavy, but because it felt clear.
Desire can be a compass.
Not a demand.
Not a measure of worth.
Just direction.
And maybe that’s part of what this season asks of us — to notice what we long to contribute, even if we’re not there yet.
To tell those we love that we do.
To give where we can.
To renew our faith and hope.
To serve outside ourselves.
Wherever you might be this holiday, I hope you feel loved, wanted, and adored.
Have the merriest Christmas this week,
Kimberlie
